SoLaWino 2.0: The Principle

SoLaWino stands for Community-Supported Agriculture in Viticulture – the first community-supported wine project on the Moselle.

Great wine comes not only from the soil, but also from the community. Jan-Philipp founded SoLaWino to invite people to come to the vineyards and experience the authentic, beautiful reality of farming on the Moselle. Now, as a family, we have merged our vineyards and cellars to further develop this vision. We are leaving traditional consumption behind and focusing entirely on collaboration. This is our promise: to share the land, the work and the harvest.

We share an ecosystem:

Roots & Stars. To have a healthy vineyard, you need the perfect balance between earth and sky. We bring together two distinct energies from agriculture and winemaking within a shared ecosystem:

The roots:

Tanja & Philippe Grandbois (us) provide the gravity. Our farming is all about living soil; we work alongside our sheep on the steep Moselle slate soils and nurture the deep roots of the vines and the land..

The Stars:

Jan-Philipp brings a fresh dynamic to the table. He approaches the vineyard and the cellar with a wild, nomadic and cosmic energy. Because we share the same soil, we discover the full spectrum of wine together. From nature’s deeply rooted expressions to the wildly experimental energy of the cosmos.

We share our trust: family in the vineyards.

Farming the steep slopes of the Moselle is unpredictable, and to manage this together, you need genuine trust. We have built this partnership on the strongest foundation we have: family. Jan-Philipp is the godfather of our first son. The deep trust we share at our own dining table carries directly over to the vineyard. The solidarity we have as a family is exactly what we need to share and expand our farming community.

From consumer to co-creator.

We want our community to join us in experiencing the varied and authentic life cycles of a vintage time and again. We invite our members to explore the vineyards with us through hands-on workshops. Whether it’s winter pruning, tending the vines or the ultimate thrill of the harvest – we work the land together. The ultimate reward for working together in the field is not just a bottle of wine, but sharing the harvest. When we open a bottle of SoLaWino wine, we taste not only the Moselle, but also the season, the weather we have experienced together, and the community that made this possible.
